Compensation Guidelines at YSM

Since the mid-1990s, the Dean’s Office has annually issued the School of Medicine Faculty Salary Guidelines that set forth general School policies regarding compensation. The Dean’s Office then collaborates with each department in developing specific departmental salary guidelines that are reviewed annually as to how compensation is determined. The complexity of the environment in terms of faculty effort directed toward clinical service, research and education as well as differences among disciplines can result in challenges to maintaining an equitable compensation structure.
