Yale Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Interest Group (VESIG)

The Yale Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Interest Group (VESIG) provides medical students with early exposure to the specialty of vascular surgery. Medical students are also afforded the opportunity to integrate into the specialty in the form of research projects, clinical exposure and simulation activities early in their medical career.

Members will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend/scrub in interesting vascular operations
  • Partake in open/endovascular training sessions and other simulation activities
  • Partake in all simulation center sessions
  • Apply for grants to attend regional and national vascular surgery conferences
  • Attend the annual Gusberg Symposium of Yale Vascular Surgery
  • Attend industry-sponsored vascular surgery dinners in New Haven
  • Receive mentoring and career advice from Yale Vascular Surgery faculty
  • Engage in summer or yearlong research activities
  • Attend journal clubs and weekly vascular surgery didactic sessions at YNHH

  • Early October: Introduction

  • December: Advanced simulation

Spring semester

  • January: Research panel
  • February: Knot tying and suturing
  • April: Match Panel
