Conferences are essential for the education of Yale Vascular residents. Resident time is protected such that all can attend. We offer several opportunities during the week for educational conferences:

Quality Improvement Conference
Wednesday 7:00-7:45 AM
This is a resident run conference in which we review the previous week’s cases and complications. There is an in-depth conversation on the management of the patient both in and out of the operating room.
A discussion based around complex and interesting patient cases. The intention is to discuss various treatment options among faculty and residents.
Aortic Conference (monthly)
Multidisciplinary discussion with cardiac surgery about thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysms.
Faculty led curriculum based on modules of disease from core vascular surgery textbooks and nationally established learning objectives.
Surgery Department Grand Rounds
The Yale Department of Surgery rotates lectures from various members of the Yale faculty. The Departmental Quality improvement also rotates through this timeslot, of which vascular surgery is a participant. Throughout the year, nationally renowned figures in the field of surgery present at this conference.
A review of recent and seminal articles from the Journal of Vascular Surgery. Discussion is focused on critical data analysis and practice
Yale Vascular Surgery Symposium (yearly)
Full day regional conference on Yale campus – theme varies from year to year. Enjoy a day of learning in an elegant environment.
National and Regional Conferences
Yale vascular residents are strongly encouraged to attend and present their research at conferences such as the Society for Vascular Surgery, American Venous Forum, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society, New England Society for Vascular Surgery, and New England Surgical Society.
