Biography

Dr. Oliveira is an Assistant Professor who provides coverage in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) as well as Emergency and Elective General Surgery coverage at the Chapel Street campus. In addition, Dr. Oliveira provides General Surgery, Trauma and Surgical Critical Care coverage at the Yale-New Haven Hospital campus as needed.

Dr. Oliveira received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas Texas and received her fellowship training in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care here at Yale University. Her interest and dedication to general surgery and medical education are clearly evident to everyone who has had the pleasure of working with her. She has a passion for providing excellent medical care to all patients, especially the underserved. Dr. Oliveira is a remarkably skilled surgeon, an outstanding educator and an evolving researcher with an impressive publication list for a junior faculty member. She serves as the Assistant Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program and her passion and research focus are in surgical education.
