Biography

I am an MD/PhD student and recently completed my PhD training in the laboratory of Dr. Ruslan Medzhitov (Immunobiology), where I studied how macrophages sense the mechanical properties of the extracellular matrix, in order to maintain tissue homeostasis and regulate tissue repair. I am currently investigating the role of inflammation and endothelial injury in driving critical illness in COVID-19, together with Dr. Alfred Lee (Hematology) and Dr. Hyung Chun (Cardiology). Prior to the MD/PhD program, I studied History at Yale College and History and Philosophy of Science at Cambridge University. Outside of the hospital and the lab, I love to write and am passionate about addressing systemic inequities in health care.
