November 09, 2022

Yale Urology's research section is growing. Jiyeon Kim, PhD, has just joined our team, along with her postdoctoral associate, Hyun Min Lee, PhD.

Assistant Professor Jiyeon Kim comes to us from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Illinois Chicago [UIC], where she has specialized in the fundamental molecular mechanisms that underlie cancer metabolism.

She is particularly interested in discovering and understanding metabolic vulnerabilities in urological cancers.

Jiyeon Kim is the recipient of numerous grants and awards, including the American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grant, American Lung Association Innovation Award, and an NCI K22 Award. She is also a member of the American Association for Cancer Research [AACR].

Jiyeon Kim is originally from South Korea. She studied cancer biology at Duke University. She then joined the UT-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, before becoming part of UIC’s faculty in 2018.
