Dr. Walter E. Longo Receives Inaugural Rosemarie L. Fisher, M.D., GME Leadership Award

Walter E. Longo, MD, MBA, FACS, FASCRS was honored with the inaugural Rosemarie L. Fisher, M.D., Graduate Medical Education (GME) Leadership Award at the recent Yale School of Medicine graduation dinner. Drs. Stephen Huot, the program's new Designated Institutional Official, and Rosemarie Fisher, the outgoing DIO, presented the award.

The award is named for Dr. Fisher, who has held the highest leadership positions in GME institutionally, regionally, and nationally. It is to be given annually to members of the Graduate Medical Education Community of Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine in recognition of substantial contributions to advancing the training of residents. The selection committee chose Dr. Longo for his efforts to further the Yale training mission for the last 15 years.
