Dr. Clarence Sasaki Receives Giotakis-Psyrri Award from the Hellenic Society of Head and Neck Cancer

On September 30, 2016, Dr. Clarence Sasaki received the Giotakis-Psyrri Award from the Hellenic Society of Head and Neck Cancer. The award honors Dr. Sasaki for his lifelong and distinguished contribution to oncology education and research and for his devotion to patients with neoplastic diseases.

Dr. Sasaki accepted the award at the 1st Panhellenic Congress on Head and Neck Cancer in Athens, Greece. In addition to the award ceremony, this inaugural meeting featured panel discussions and lectures with the goal to highlight the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in the management of head and neck cancer. The congress also explored the changing landscape in epidemiology, pathogenesis and early diagnosis of head and neck cancer, and the supportive care of oral toxicity.

The Hellenic Society of Head and Neck Cancer is an international society that aims to disseminate knowledge of the different aspects of oral precancerous lesions and head and neck cancers. The goal of the Society is to promote the knowledge and research of tumors of the head and neck and oropharyngeal cancers, as well as coordinate the educational discussion of head and neck cancers.
