Vallabhajosyula Appointed to Thoracic Surgery Foundation Board

Prashanth Vallabhajosyula, MD, MS, professor of cardiac surgery at Yale School of Medicine and surgical director of the Aortic Institute at the Yale New Haven Health Heart & Vascular Center, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of The Thoracic Surgery Foundation (TSF), the philanthropic arm of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). The appointment was approved by the STS Executive Committee.

Vallabhajosyula will serve an initial three-year term beginning after the 2026 STS Annual Meeting in New Orleans.

TSF awards more than $1.7 million in grants annually across its mission areas of research, education, leadership development, and humanitarian outreach in cardiothoracic surgery.

Vallabhajosyula’s appointment coincides with continued leadership from Yale faculty within the society. Marc Pelletier, MD, chief of cardiac surgery, will serve as program chair for the STS 2026 Annual Meeting.
