The Department of Surgery is recruiting for two new Associate Program Director (APD) positions to support the General Surgery Residency Program’s clinical training initiatives, and the structured professional development of its trainees.

The APD for Clinical Skills and the APD for Academic Development will both partner closely with Program Director, Dr. Peter Yoo in the long-term and daily management of the program, together with APD of Curriculum, Dr. Kristen Oliveira, and the APD of Assessment (an in-progress recruitment).

  • The APD for Clinical Skills will be charged largely with oversight of the residents’ simulation laboratory curriculum and technical skills development. Click here to view the job description.
  • The APD for Academic Development will be responsible for creating and implementing structured, personalized mentorship initiatives that support a surgeon’s academic development over the course of the training years. Click here to view the job description.

"Providing our trainees and faculty with a comprehensive curriculum and support team is critical to our education mission. These roles fully complement this new strategy, as we assign and align focus areas of expertise among our educators,” said Department of Surgery Chair, Dr. Nita Ahuja.

Active, full-time faculty in the Department of Surgery, independent of surgical specialty, are encouraged to apply.

Eligible candidates are encouraged to contact Claudia.Chujoy@yale.edu with an updated CV and a brief cover email expressing interest.
