The Department of Surgery Research Advisory Council is accepting applications for newly established COVID-19 Clinical Research Seed Funding. The one-time funding mechanism aims to support clinical research with the potential for significant and rapid impact on and understanding of human health with respect to the disease (COVID-19) or the causal virus (SARS-CoV-2).

"The funds are intended to fast track innovative research proposals that directly address the clinical needs of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly those facing our health system and our community," said Vice Chair of Research, Peter J. Gruber, MD, PhD.

The Department will fund up to five clinical COVID-19 research projects, with maximum funding of $5,000 for any single project. The submission process is open to the Department of Surgery community, including medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and faculty collaborators.
