Dr. Adrian Maung Appointed Surgical Director for Perioperative Services

Yale Surgery is pleased to announce that Yale Medicine Trauma Surgeon, Adrian Maung, M.D., will assume the role of Surgical Director for Perioperative Services at Yale New Haven Hospital, effective immediately. In this capacity, Dr. Maung will support broad operational functions for the operating rooms and clinical services, across all surgical specialties. He will join the Surgical Services Governance Council and report to the Vice President and Clinical Chief of Perioperative Services, Dr. Maxwell Laurans, for these responsibilities.

“Adrian has a track record of building strong relationships across disciplines, and we look forward to his leadership in this new role,” said Dr. Laurans.

An Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, and Trauma Medical Director for the YNHH Trauma Center, Dr. Maung leads Yale Surgery’s mass casualty triage initiatives, including first responder emergency medical training for the local community. In 2019, he led the successful re-accreditation of the YNHH Trauma program by the American College of Surgeons.

“Dr. Maung’s appointment is a testament to his unwavering commitment the Yale Surgery community at large,” said Department of Surgery Chair, Dr. Nita Ahuja.
