Research Summary

Dr. Kenney's research focuses on the interaction of surgery and systemic therapy in Urologic Oncology in general, with a particular emphasis on Renal Cell Carcinoma. In particular, he is interested in the development of effective neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapies for patients with locally advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma at high risk of relapse after surgery, a population of patients with no proven effective therapy to date. In addition, Dr. Kenney is interested in further characterizing the role of cytoreductive nephrectomy in the modern era, and elucidating the most effective algorithm for integrating surgical and systemic therapy for metastatic RCC.
