Michelle Salazar, MD, MHS

Michelle C. Salazar, MD, is a general surgery resident at Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Salazar completed her medical school at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. She has completed two years of her general surgery clinical training. Before starting her residency training, Dr. Salazar completed two years of research with the section of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Yale School of medicine. During this time she worked on cancer care outcomes research with a focus in lung cancer.

Career Interests: Dr. Salazar plans to become an academic surgeon and specialize in the field of thoracic surgery.

Research Interests: Her research interests include cancer outcomes research, cancer quality of care, racial disparities in delivery of healthcare, and residency wellness.
