Julie Hens

Associate Research Scientist

Research Departments & Organizations

Yale Cancer Center: Signal Transduction

Research Interests

Breast Neoplasms; Methionine; Triple Negative Breast Neoplasms

Research Summary

Dr. Hens is working on a project that demonstrates that MR can increase levels of two mitochondrial SLC transporters in triple negative breast cancer. Her preliminary data suggests that MR increases apoptosis through a mitochondrial specific mechanism in ETC Complex V. Additionally, Dr. Hens is working in John Wysolmerski’s laboratory focusing on the role of calcium sensing receptor(CaSR) and GABAR1 and GABAR2 interactions in breast cancer.
