Research Summary

Conducted numerous studies on the diagnosis and prognosis of schizophrenia with Will Carpenter and John Bartko while at the National Institute of Mental Health. They made the earliest scientific study showing that people with schizophrenia could improve. Subsequently, at the University of Rochester and then at Yale John has become increasingly involved in understanding narrative as essential along with traditional scientific methods to comprehend the nature of psychiatric disorders and to develop more effective treatments.
