Research Summary

Epilepsy research combines my interests in understanding abnormal brain connectivity, and combating human disease. My long term future career plan is to understand the basic neurobiological mechanisms of epilepsy using functional neuroimaging, DTI, electrophysiology, and molecular techniques.

Extensive Research Description

  • Functional MRI and electrophysiology in absence seizures.
  • Resting functional connectivity studies of absence seizures.
  • Diffusion tensor imaging studies of microstructural changes in seizure-prone brain regions in WAG/Rij rat's brain treated with different anti-epilepsy medicines
  • In vivo electrophysiology and fMRI recordings from animal models of epilepsy
