Andrew Tebbenkamp, PhD

Associate Research Scientist

Research Summary

My research goal is to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neural circuit development and function in the healthy and diseased brain. In particular, I focus on the cerebral cortex, the region of the mammalian brain that processes our senses, commands motor activity, and helps us perform higher-order cognitive functions. To achieve this goal, I utilize multi-faceted and complementary approaches, including cellular and molecular characterization of genetically modified mice, and functional genomics on post-mortem human brains and patient-derived iPS cells.
