My research is focused on studying and understanding the multi-omic (genomic/transcriptomic/epigenomic) profiles of various tumors through computational methods. I am specifically interested in the genomic profiles of primary brain tumors with a focus on inter and intra tumor heterogeneity. Having a background in computer science and computational biology; I develop bioinformatics approaches to study large datasets to reveal the molecular mechanisms both in tumor formation, progression and also in clinical outlier subgroups such as treatment resistant/responsive or long/short term survivors. I am also interested in application of genomic techniques to precision medicine for brain tumors. I have been leading the computational arm of the precision medicine efforts at the Department of Neurosurgery at Yale since 2016.
