Dr. Jeffrey Bender's lab is an immunobiology lab that is primarily focused on studying the role of immune cells in cardiovascular physiology and pathology. In his lab, I have been studying the role of macrophages, both resident and inflammatory, in the context of hypoxic injuries and wound models. In particular, defining the posttranscriptional mRNA mechanisms that can set the foundation for developing innovative oligonucleotide therapeutics.
