Research Summary

My research interests include expanding the healthcare workforce and uniting physician assistants (PA) and comparable professions aka non-physician clinicians (clinical officers/assistant medical officers etc). I am on the board of Physician Assistants for Global Health (PAGH), liaison to International PA Organization (IPAO), communications director of the International Academy of PA Educators (IAPAE), global ambassador to the American Academy of PAs, and creator of IFPACS International Federation of Physician Assistant/Physician Associate/ Clinical Officer/Clinical Associate/Comparable Student Association(www.ifpacs.org), a student federation supporting PA and comparable students.

I have linked together the advocacy organizations through IPAO, hosting meetings and connecting the advocacy groups to each other. Through IAPAE, I lead educator meetings and have collected curricula from over 30 schools to map on a program called LOOOP. I am mentoring the students to create an international organization like the medical students' organization- IFMSA, and helping the students create national organizations in their country with the help of the educators and advocacy groups. I am consulting with the World Health Organization on the framework to encompass our profession entitled: Global Competency Framework for Universal Healthcare and collaborating with Interprofessional.Global to rewrite the 2010 Interprofessional Framework for an update to be submitted to the WHO.

I am also the creator of VIPE (Virtual Interprofessional Education) and AFRI-VIPE, a virtual interprofessional collaborative that spans across 14 countries and 27 universities.
