Research Summary
I direct a cognitive neuroscience lab that employs neuroimaging (fMRI) and behavioral techniques to study human perception, attention, memory, and decision-making. Specifically, I’ve published extensively on attention (e.g., Chun et al., 2011, Ann Rev Psychol), its relation to working memory (e.g., Chun, 2011, Neuropsychologia), and its role in long-term memory encoding and retrieval (e.g., Chun & Johnson, 2011, Neuron). We use fMRI to understand neural representation, and how it can explain and predict behavior, employing advanced computational methods such as multivoxel pattern analysis (Kuhl et al., 2012, 2013, 2014; Vickery et al., 2011; Cowen et al., 2014), and connectome-based predictive modeling, the latter with co-I Todd Constable and his group (Finn et al., 2015; Rosenberg et al., 2016).
