Research Summary
Dr. Kachadourian is a research psychologist at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. Her primary research interests concern anger and aggression and associated risk (e.g., trauma exposure, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance use) and protective factors (e.g., emotion regulation, mindfulness meditation). More recently her interests have come to include self-aggression, including suicidal behaviors and non-suicidal self-injury and use of event sampling methods (e.g., ecological momentary assessment). Additional interests include developing and testing alternative treatments for anger and aggression (including self-aggression), including mindfulness-based interventions (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy).
