Research Summary

Dr. Hens is working on a project that demonstrates that methionine restriction (MR) can affect mitochondrial function in triple negative breast cancer. Her preliminary data suggests that MR increases apoptosis through a mitochondrial specific mechanism. Additionally, Dr. Hens is working in John Wysolmerski’s laboratory focusing on the role of parathyroid hormone related protein (PTHrP), calcium sensing receptor(CaSR) and GABAR1 and GABAR2 interactions in breast cancer.
