Research & Publications
One of my earliest interests since joining the faculty at Yale has been to investigate the possibility of percutaneous sclerosis of the gallbladder mucosa in patients with cholecystitis who are not surgical candidates. An extension of my clinical interest in orthopedic interventions is my research interest in improving the effectiveness of percutaneous management of metastatic bony disease. A long term orthopedic interest of mine is to investigate the effectiveness of trans arterial particle embolization for chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes, such as knee osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, adhesive capsulitis, epicondylitis, etc. This particular approach to treatment of painful inflammatory conditions has potential to be transformative due to its minimally invasive nature and very promising preliminary results out of Japan.
