Elena Fomchenko, MD, PhD

Biography

Dr Fomchenko is a Chief Resident in Neurological Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital. She received her PhD degree from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences - Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2010 under the guidance of Dr Eric Holland, where she investigated clonality in gliomas using RCAS/tv-a murine model. Dr Fomchenko received her MD degree from the University of California David Geffen School of Medicine in 2014. She has completed an enfolded Neurosurgical Oncology Fellowship at Yale under the guidance of Dr Moliterno. Her current research interests include understanding genetic make-up of brain tumors, and their implications for treatment.
