Research Summary
Dr. Tolchin's current research focuses on interventions to improve access, adherence, and outcomes in psychotherapeutic treatment of psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES). These include behavioral interventions such as motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioral therapy, as well as technological interventions such as automated psychotherapy software.
Other research interests include functional neurological symptom disorders, treatment adherence and outcomes in epilepsy, implementation science, telemedicine/teleneurology/teletherapy, ICU EEG, the diagnostic yield of EEG, bioethics, neuroepidemiology, and psychiatric epidemiology.
