About the Study

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is responsible for providing high quality medical and other services to Veterans. To achieve this mission, it is critical that the VA understand Veterans' concerns about their eating and weight, the ways in which their military experiences have impacted their eating and weight, and their need for and use of VA programs and services. This research study is funded by the Department of Defense and is being conducted in two phases by the Boston HealthCare System and Yale School of Medicine. You have already taken part in the first phase of the study, conducted by the VA Boston Healthcare System, by answering some survey questions. When taking the survey, you agreed that, if you were selected, you would be willing to be contacted by Dr. Zafra Cooper's team at Yale School of Medicine for the second phase of the study, an interview.

In order to decide if you wish to take part in this stage of the study, you should know enough about its risks and benefits to make an informed decision. This summary goes over the second phase of the study. A member of the research team is also available to discuss this with you before you make a decision.

We are asking you if you would like to participate in the second phase of this study.
All the information you provide from the interview will be kept private.
