Srihari Named Recipient of APA's Gralnick Award for Research in Schizophrenia

Vinod H. Srihari, MD, professor of psychiatry, has been selected to receive the 2025 Gralnick Award for Research in Schizophrenia by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and APA Foundation.

The award is given in recognition of research achievements in the treatment of schizophrenia, emphasizing early diagnosis and treatment and psychosocial aspects of the disease process. It includes a $3,000 honorarium and a plaque to be presented at the APA Annual Meeting, which will be held in Los Angeles on May 17-21, 2025.

Srihari is director of the Program for Specialized Treatment Early in Psychosis (STEP) at Yale. STEP includes a comprehensive early intervention service, and hosts a statewide learning health system that aims to improve access and care for all individuals with recent onset schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

Srihari's research grants and collaborations are focused on increasing knowledge about the causes, mechanisms, and effective interventions targeting these disorders.
