Two Yale Department of Psychiatry faculty have been awarded research grants through the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation’s (BBRF) NARSAD Young Investigator Grant Program.
Elizabeth V. Goldfarb, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, received a grant for her project “Neuroimaging Habit Learning in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.”
Vaughn R. Steele, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, was honored for his project “Circuit-Based Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Opiate Dependent Individuals.”
BBRF Young Investigator Grants provided scientists with up to two years of funding to either extend research fellowship training or begin careers as independent research faculty.
The foundation awarded its first Young Investigator Grants in 1987 to help researchers launch careers in neuroscience and psychiatry and gather pilot data to apply for larger federal and university grants. Since 1987 BBRF has awarded more than $269 million in Young Investigator Grants to scientists.
