Yale School of Medicine Launches Innovative Program to Attract and Retain Underrepresented Faculty
This year, Yale School of Medicine (YSM) is launching an innovative program to support the research and post-doctoral careers of outstanding research scientists called the YSM Science Fellows Program. The program is a key part of the school’s Strategic Plan for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and will recruit top PhD and MD/PhD recent graduates to engage in independent research and support them in transitioning into open faculty positions at Yale or other institutions.

Is the Influence of Sex and Gender on Health Being Taught in Medical School?
Dr. Njeri Thande, a cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine, is leading an effort with Women’s Health Research at Yale and Yale School of Medicine’s Office of Education to make sure this vital education starts as early as possible. The goal is to build a model for medical schools to fully integrate demonstrated scientific knowledge of how sex and gender influence health into their curricula.

Psychology internship matches new fellows
On February 23rd, the results of a national Match were announced for psychology internships. Through this process the Yale Department of Psychiatry's Doctoral Internship in Clinical and Community Psychology selected its incoming class of 16 Fellows who will spend a year training at Yale from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. These trainees were selected from among large pool of qualified applicants.
