Evaluation of glutamate levels in adolescent mood disorders

What is the purpose of this trial?

You are invited to take part in a research study that will look at what changes in the brain occur in people when they are depressed.  Prior to participating in the scanning part of the study you will be asked to come for a screening appointment which includes a standard clinical interview with study staff.  If you are eligible following the screening appointment, you will be scheduled for a 1 hour MRS (magnetic resonance spectroscopy) to measure the concentrations of certain brain chemicals.
