Physical and Mental Health of Refugees: Providing Culturally-Sensitive Longitudinal Care

This event, on March 30, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m., at The Anlyan Center, is intended for Connecticut clinicians and clinicians-in-training (as well as others in the community) who are interested in learning about the specific health needs of refugees who have already been resettled.

Learning Objectives

Describe the political context of refugee resettlement

Demonstrate key aspects of culturally sensitive health care for refugees

Describe special considerations in providing longitudinal pediatric and adult health care for refugees, with an additional focus on women's health issues

Identify local resources for refugee services in New Haven and surrounding communities.


Target audience

Connecticut clinicians and clinicians-in-training who are interested in learning about the specific mental and physical health needs of refugees
