I am currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale University, Program for Recovery and Community Health. In this position, I serve as the Director for Consultation and Training. Were I work with a team of consultants and trainers to address national and international Recovery, Resiliency System transformation initiatives. As the Director for Consultation I have worked with Philadelphia’s Behavioral Health Systems transformation and the State of Georgia’s Recovery Transformation, addressing organizational change and the enhancement of recovery oriented and culturally competent practices at the level of service delivery through training, system wide assessments, community development and strategic planning. For three years I served as Clinical Director of Dixwell/Newhallville Community Mental Health Services, a not-for profit mental health clinic that provides services to adults, children and families in a predominantly African American, low-income community. In this capacity I worked to develop innovative culturally responsive and recovery -oriented services and programs, and provided supervision for BA and MA level student interns. I have also worked as a consultant for Texas Department of Health Services, facilitating their development of Cultural Competency guidelines for their service system providers; and I am currently working with Douglas Hospital and McGill University providing training and consultation for a Recovery initiative in Montreal, Canada.
