Barbara Walsh

Dr. Walsh served as Clinical Director of the PRIME Clinic at Yale School of Medicine for many years and currently serves as the Ascertainment and Assessment Director. As Clinical Director, Dr. Walsh was responsible for overseeing the evaluation and stepped care approach of treatment for individuals and for providing training and psychoeducation to communities and professionals.

As Ascertainment and Assessment Director. she is responsible for overseeing research protocols, clinical trials and assessing CHR in individuals. She co-authored three assessments for diagnosing CHR and FEP. She is the international recognized trainer for the SIPS and PSYCHS assessments.

Dr. Walsh consults with clinics all over the world creating outreach and treatment protocols, tracking outcomes and developing programs for individuals with early psychosis. She is a member of the Early Serious Mental Illness Treatment and Technical Assistance (ESMI TTA) team, where she contributes to national efforts to enhance early intervention services. Dr. Walsh has over 25 years of experience and many peer-reviewed publications and book chapters including the book “The Psychosis-Risk Syndrome”.
