Li Accepted to National Fellowship Program

July 22, 2019

Luming Li, MD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, has been accepted to a national fellowship program that encourages its fellows to advocate for policies to improve the health care of older adults.

The mission of the Health and Aging Policy Fellows Program is to inspire leaders to promote policies that will benefit aging men and women. The year-long fellowship provides a comprehensive training program focused on current policy issues, communication skills development, and professional networking opportunities.

The program aims to promote policies that improve the whole well-being of older adults, including policies that affect cost of care, economic and physical security of vulnerable and disadvantaged older adults, and the promotion of civic engagement.

Li is one of 12 fellows chosen to participate in the new class. She has been placed in a non-residential track that includes a health policy project that may be focused at a global, federal, state, or community level.

The program, in its 11th year, is open to physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, health care administrators, epidemiologists, economists, and other professionals with a strong commitment to health and aging issues.

Li is a 2018 graduate of the Yale Psychiatry Residency Program. She is Associate Medical Director for Quality Improvement at Yale Psychiatric Hospital.
