Bailey named Chairman of the Board of W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute

Rahn Kennedy Bailey, MD, a fellow in Forensic Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine from 1994-1995, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute.

Bailey, a Past-Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, has served on the institute’s Board of Directors since 2014. He is a nationally known clinician who specializes in inpatient care, medical education, research, and forensic evaluations. He is also Past President of the National Medical Association (NMA), an organization that represents African-American doctors.

The institute was launched by NMA to examine the underlying causes of existing racial-ethnic disparities in health and healthcare and to offer strategies and programs informed by research and policy analysis. It hosts symposiums that highlight findings and recommendations from leaders in medicine and health policy.

A native of Texas, Bailey is a diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Medicine. He is also Chairman of Membership for the American Psychiatric Association where he is working to expand membership and diversity.
