Yale Department of Psychiatry sees increase in NIH research funding

The Yale Department of Psychiatry saw its National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for research increase by more than $1.5 million in 2018, according to a report by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.

Yale faculty and affiliates in 2018 were awarded $73.48 million in NIH grants, according to the report. That is an increase of approximately $1.5 million from the $71.97 million received in 2017.

Several faculty affiliated with Yale were in the top 150 in funding in the country, according to the report. The report lists 1,168 researchers who combined received $882 million in research grants in 2018. That's an increase from the $815 million awarded in 2017.
