September 13, 2018

The Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health (PRCH) has received a five-year Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant to develop a Mental Health Technology Transfer Center for the New England Region.

One of 10 new regional centers around the country, the New England Mental Health Technology Transfer Center aims to improve the quality of care provided to people with mental illnesses and their families by providing consultation, training, technical assistance, and knowledge dissemination activities for mental health organizations and systems across the six-state region.

The mission of the new Center is: “Using evidence-based means to disseminate evidence-based practices across New England.” Key partners include the Harvard and Dartmouth departments of psychiatry and the Boston-based Center for Social Innovation, a “mission-driven, woman-owned small business with a deep commitment to social justice and equality for all.”

PRCH, a program of the Yale Department of Psychiatry, does collaborative research, evaluation, education, training, policy development, and consultation. The organization works to transform behavioral health programs, agencies, and systems to be culturally responsive and re-oriented to facilitating the recovery and social inclusion of the people, families, and communities they serve.

The Director of PRCH is Larry Davidson, PhD, Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine.
