Department, YNHH announce collaboration to evaluate options to better serve patients

June 25, 2018

The Department of Psychiatry of the Yale University School of Medicine (Yale Psychiatry) is pleased that it is collaborating with Yale New Haven Hospital to evaluate future options to better serve the growing patient population seeking treatment for mental health and addiction services.

To this end, Yale Psychiatry collaborated with Yale New Haven Hospital in its selection of Payette as the master site planner for this project. Payette was selected after reviewing proposals from four national architectural firms and interviewing three of those firms.

Payette, located in Boston, has been in business for over 100 years. Payette’s experience with numerous leading and prestigious teaching hospitals across the country, as well as the personal interactions with our selection team, made a compelling case for us to select them as our partner in this exciting project.

As part of this process, the Yale New Haven Hospital Facilities, Design and Construction (FD&C) team will be doing on-site visits at all our Psychiatry and Behavioral Health locations with Payette. Its goal is to understand our current state as we begin this assessment and planning process.

The leadership of Yale Psychiatry and Yale Medicine will be working with Payette and to develop a planning process that will include their extensive experience with projects of this magnitude. There will opportunities to engage key stakeholders; staff, patients, families, community partners and donors, in this process.
