The Connecticut Mental Health Center marked its 50th anniversary September 30 with a gala celebration at the Yale School of Management.

More than 400 people attended the event, which honored the rich legacy of excellence in clinical care, research, and education provided at CMHC.

The event was co-chaired by State Sen. Ted Kennedy, Jr. and his wife, Kiki Kennedy, MD, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Yale. Sen. Kennedy addressed the crowd, as did Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, PhD, commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services, and U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn.

Michael Sernyak, professor of psychiatry and CEO of CMHC, welcomed the crowd and acknowledged dozens of people in attendance who have contributed to CMHC, whether through its person-centered clinical care service, its training center or research labs.
