Anticevic named Rising Star by Schizophrenia International Research Society

December 07, 2015

Alan Anticevic, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology, has been named one of two 2016 Rising Stars by the Schizophrenia International Research Society (SIRS).

The award will be presented April 2, 2016, at the fifth biennial SIRS conference in Florence, Italy.

Anticevic operates the Anticevic Lab at Yale, which seeks to better understand, at the neural system level, the mechanisms behind cognitive and affective deficits in neuropsychiatric illness.

Specifically, the group's research focuses on understanding these processes in schizophrenia, bipolar illness and addiction.

SIRS focuses on new drug development and the status of cutting edge basic and translational research in the field of schizophrenia.

In August, Anticevic was awarded the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation's 2015 Klerman Prize for Exceptional Clinical Research. He received the Brain and Behavior Foundation Young Investigator Award in 2012, and the 2014 Janet Taylor Spence Award for Transformative Early Career Contributions from the Association for Psychological Sciences.
