Jorandby appointed to American Health Council Physician Board

Lantie Elisabeth Jorandby, MD, who completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine in 2015, has been named to the Physician Board at the American Health Council.

The council is a nationwide network of doctors dedicated to improving people's health. It promotes healthcare advocacy, education, and personal development for its members.

Jorandby will share her knowledge and expertise in addiction psychiatry with the organization. She works as an addiction psychiatrist at the Amen Clinic in Washington, D.C., which applies brain imaging science to help control emotional issues, behavioral, and learning challenges.

At Amen, Jorandby conducts neuropsychiatric evaluations and employs a holistic/physical approach toward general psychiatric disorders and substance abuse treatment.

She is a former staff psychiatrist and mental health supervisor at the Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Viera, Fla. She also worked as medical director of the Dual Diagnosis Unit at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., and as a faculty instructor at Harvard Medical School.

She has served as a volunteer psychiatrist in Florida, and has traveled with Missionary Flights International to Haiti. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed research publications and a book chapter on topics like the effects of marijuana on the brain, treatment of opioid use disorders, and the correlation between food and the brain reward system.
