U.S. News & World Report has ranked Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) sixth nationally for psychiatry in its 2025-26 America’s Best Hospitals Survey.
Psychiatry remains the hospital’s highest ranked specialty, according to the survey. YNHH Psychiatry’s ranking was also last year, its highest position in the survey in recent memory.
“Every day, I see that the faculty and staff of the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital are incredibly dedicated, compassionate, and expert in the delivery of mental health treatment. I’m pleased to see that others in the country also recognize these qualities. I’m very proud of our team,” said John H. Krystal, MD, chief of psychiatry at YNHH and chair of the Yale Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine.
YNHH remained among the highest ranked hospitals in the region and was the top ranked hospital in Connecticut.
U.S. News uses a rigorous methodology to rank hospitals that includes depth of clinical services, quality of care, patient outcomes, and patient experience.
