Three scholars from the Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) Program within Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital were selected to audit the National Clinician Scholars Program (NCSP) course, Foundations of Community-Engaged Research.
The rigorous, longitudinal course is a core component of post-graduate training for physician and nurse scientists. It emphasizes health equity, avoiding harm, and shared decision-making with community and academic partnership. The opportunity supports Yale Cancer Center's catchment area outreach and engagement mission.
The COE Scholars chosen include Avanti Verma, MD, Kathryn Norman (Clinical Fellow), and Rachel Ouellette, PhD.
