PRCH Graduates Fellows from Lived Experience Transformational Leadership Academy

1 Minute Read

The Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health (PRCH) announces the graduation on Sept. 15 of 15 fellows from the inaugural Connecticut cohort of the Lived Experience Transformational Leadership Academy (LET(s)Lead).

The LET(s)Lead Academy, a joint effort between Yale PRCH and the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership, is designed to empower emerging leaders who have personal experience with mental health challenges.

The curriculum provides a comprehensive education in transformational leadership through 11 weekly, two-hour virtual sessions. These sessions combine educational content with experiential learning, including group discussions and practical exercises to cultivate leadership qualities.

One distinctive feature of the LET(s)Lead program is its focus on community-based change. Fellows enter the academy with a proposal for a transformational project aimed at improving their local communities or the behavioral health system. They receive knowledge and mentorship from current leaders in the field to refine and strengthen their projects, preparing them for successful implementation.
