Henrique Oliva, MD, PhD, Associate Research Scientist in Psychiatry, has been selected to receive a 2026 American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology (ASCP) Annual Meeting New Investigator Award (NIA).

The award will be presented at the ASCP Annual Meeting, held May 26–29, 2026, in Miami. This year’s meeting will feature special sessions centered on the theme, “Psychiatry and AI: Promises, Perils, and Pathways Forward.”

Oliva will present the study, “Pharmacotherapies for Co-Occurring Stimulant Use Disorder and ADHD: A Network Meta-Analysis,” conducted with the research team at the Yale Cocaine Research Clinic under the supervision of Gustavo A. Angarita, MD, MHS, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry.

The NIA recognizes early-career scientists who have not served as principal investigators on an R01 grant. During the meeting, award recipients will attend workshops and roundtables, present their research, and work with a designated meeting mentor.

Oliva is a physician-scientist interested in addiction psychiatry and the use of multimodal techniques, including neuroimaging and sleep studies, to better understand the neurobiology of substance use disorders. His multidisciplinary background in engineering, medicine, and neuroscience informs his translational research aimed at improving treatment strategies for individuals with substance use disorders.
