Olaniyi Olayinka, MD, MPH, an Addiction Psychiatry fellow in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, has been accepted to the Research in Addiction Medicine Scholars (RAMS) Program 2021-2023 based at Boston University School of Medicine.

The two-year program is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). It is intended to supplement the participant’s addiction medicine or addiction psychiatry fellowship and aims to develop skills in addiction research among physicians from accredited addiction medicine and addiction psychiatry fellowship programs across North America. The goal is for participants to develop skills to provide better care for patients with and at risk for substance use disorders.

Participants will convene in Boston for a retreat Nov. 29-Dec. 1, 2021. Olayinka will be mentored by Anahita Bassir Nia, MD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry.
