Klee Elected 2023 Chair of APA's Board of Professional Affairs

Anne Klee, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, has been elected the 2023 Chair of the Board of Professional Affairs of the American Psychological Association (APA).

The Board of Professional Affairs is responsible for recommending and implementing APA policy, standards, and guidelines for the profession of psychology; maintaining relationships with other professional organizations and groups appropriate to its mission; recognizing contributions to the profession of psychology through awards and honors; proposing to the association ways to enhance the profession of psychology; and fostering the application of psychological knowledge to promote public welfare. Members of the Board of Professional Affairs are elected to represent the range of interests characteristic of the profession of psychology.

Klee is Past President of the Connecticut Psychological Association, whose members work to enhance the professional lives of psychologists in Connecticut and to monitor, communicate, and advocate for crucial issues that directly affect the profession. Klee works at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven. She develops quality, recovery-oriented programs for people with serious mental illness and trains and supports the work of peer specialists.
