June 23, 2021

Zachary Harvanek, MD, PhD, and Nichole Roxas, MD, MPH, have been named Chief Residents of Diversity & Inclusion for the Adult Psychiatry Residency Program for 2021-22.

The Chief Residents of Diversity & Inclusion help to assess, develop, and cultivate an environment that is equitable, inclusive, and supportive of diversity for underrepresented minority trainees as well as for individuals who may experience bias on the basis of ability, age, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

They also work closely with the Program-Wide Chief Residents and program administration to promote diversity and inclusiveness for all residents.

Harvanek and Roxas are entering their fourth year of residency in the Yale Department of Psychiatry.
